I had fun trying out this new game mode and I want to say I think it’s really cool that they came out with something like this, but I was a bit underwhelmed with it.

Firstly, the roster of characters seems small for the era they’re going for in terms of item/jungle balance. Secondly, some characters do not at all play the way they actually played during this era, instead playing the way they did long prior to it and so on. Thirdly, I was disappointed that Skarner’s voice was his modern one as opposed to his original, and fourthly I felt like the game mode was fairly buggy.

Still, it was fun to mess around for a match or two. I wonder if they could develop this to the point that people can play the balance states of various times of old League, though I doubt they’d put that level of care into it. I think they definitely don’t want this to start to compete with the modern game.
