A horror-mystery classic I hadn’t seen, Psycho does a ton of work with tension. I went into the movie blind and honestly wasn’t even sure it would be a movie of its genre until it turned into one, and I had all kinds of ideas about the characters and plot presented up until that point and how they would develop, so it was an interesting shift that I’m glad I got to experience blind. The character who does end up as the film’s antagonist feels like a bit of a red herring at first too, and ends up kind of being one and kind of not being one in an interesting way through some plot twists. The visuals are a little light at some points, but I can’t tell if it’s for effect or related to some kind of rating the movie wanted to keep. Overall, I’d say it’s a movie worth checking out for sure.
